Our Story
It all began on a winter day in Fredericton — December 20th, 2014 — when a group of passionate Nepali individuals came together with a shared dream: to keep their culture alive in a new land. That dream became the Nepali Cultural Association of New Brunswick (NCANB).
What started as a small initiative has grown into a thriving, close-knit community of over 300 members across the province. We are artists, teachers, parents, students, and dreamers — united by our heritage and driven by a desire to celebrate it.
Today, we’re proud to be led by a newly elected, dynamic team — a group of energetic and dedicated individuals who are bringing fresh ideas and renewed enthusiasm to our mission. With their leadership, NCANB is planning exciting cultural programs, empowering our youth, and building bridges across communities.
From vibrant Dashain and Tihar celebrations to dance workshops and storytelling circles, we’re not just preserving tradition — we’re passing it on. Our children learn the language, the music, the values — and in doing so, they carry Nepal in their hearts, wherever they go.
Our Mission
To protect, preserve, and promote Nepali culture, language, and heritage — while building meaningful connections among NCANB members, local communities, and other cultural groups through a strong and inclusive network of support.
Our Vision
To bring together people of Nepali origin under one welcoming umbrella — creating a space rooted in friendship, mutual respect, and shared purpose. We believe in celebrating together, supporting one another, and growing stronger as a community.
